All clear in Jet Park and North Rand Road

Protests today is  over the national minimum wage of R20 per hour. Saftu is also protesting the labour law amendments, including those on industrial action.

The Advertiser has visited Jet Park this morning and all is clear.

Reports surfaced of trouble brewing in Jansen and Jet Park roads. Apparent protesters has moved on, boarding a train apparently for Johannesburg.

According to Srgt Cebisa Maseko, spokesperson for the Boksburg SAPS, there is also no reported protest action happening in the station’s precinct.

Reports have also surfaced of protest action along North Rand Road but at this stage all is clear.

Protest action is part of the South African Federation of Trade Unions national strike today, which is aimed to bring the country to a standstill.
