Brazen criminals rock Boksburg with car thefts

The Boksburg SAPS’ crime reports have revealed that criminals are becoming bolder and are preying on their targeted victims in broad daylight in both busy and secluded areas.

 

Part of the crime wave is the theft of motor vehicles.

According to Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Sgt Cebisa Maseko, six such cases were recently reported.

* A Brakpan man was left stranded after his Ford Ranger was stolen in the parking lot outside Checkers Hyper on Rondebult Road in Boksburg on April 12.

The complainant told the police that he parked his vehicle and went into the shops, but when he returned to the parking area, about 30 minutes later, his vehicle was gone.

* A Boksburg North man parked his Nissan Sentra outside the Boksburg Civic Centre at about 6pm and attended a meeting held inside the municipal building on April 12. When he returned to the spot after the meeting, his car was gone.

* A Toyota Etios was stolen while parked outside Villa Luciana, Sunward Park on April 13.

* A Farrarmere man told the police that his Ford Ranger was stolen while parked outside a property on Jubilee Road, Boksburg South on April 14.

* A man had his mother’s Hyundai which was stolen from the Sunward Park Lifestyle centre parking lot while he was watching a rugby match at one restaurant and pubs in the centre, on April 14.

* A white Hyundai bakkie was stolen while parked on Sonskyn Street outside Sunward Gardens on April 14.
