UPDATE: Boksburg High SGB comments on listeriosis case
The school removed all products affected from the premises immediately

The School Governing Body (SGB) of Boksburg High has officially responded regarding the concerns of a parent that their child may have contracted listeriosis from the school tuck shop.
The learner was hospitalised with listeriosis on March 8.
The SGB of Boksburg High stated: When the minister of health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, made the statement regarding listeria on national news the food containing products mentioned by him was immediately removed from the menu and physically from our tuck shop and premises. Even though our supplier at the tuck shop has never used products from the affected suppliers, we still removed all products in that food line. The tuck shop contractor is a qualified chef and the owner of a bakery and a restaurant. The same health procedures prescribed for the outbreak were applied in his commercial business and were applied at the tuck shop. The well being of every learner at our school is a priority. We offer, as always, an open door policy and parents are welcome to contact us.
