Boksburg North SAPS this afternoon confiscated unlicensed firearms, including AK47’s, ammunition, flares along with flammable and explosive fluids in Anderbolt.
Capt Juanita Coetzer, communications officer at the Boksburg North SAPS, confirmed that at 2pm the firearm and licensing officers at Boksburg North station received information from an informant that there are unlicensed firearms and ammunition on a business premises, corner of Atlas and Paul Smit roads.
“Upon arrival the officers found and seized the arms cache,” said Coetzer.
“The fire department and bomb squad were also immediately dispatched to ensure the safety of the immediate surroundings.
“The area was cordoned off and secured.”
A suspect has been arrested.
Investigations continue.
