A rape and murder suspect was arrested at the Key Largo Centre in Trichardts Road in Bardene, on February 20.
This is after the Norkem Park SAPS, who are investigating the case, spotted him at a business across the road.
The officers were acting on information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts and when they found him, the suspect ran to the Key Largo Centre, with the police in pursuit.
Captain Juanita Coetzer, the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, confirmed that shots were fired by the Norkem Park officers.
“According to them, a woman was raped and murdered in the Norkem Park area recently, and they were acting on information about the suspect when the incident unfolded,” said Coetzer.
“The suspect was arrested.”
