Mr SA within grasp for this local teacher

Local resident Jacob Bronkhorst has been named a top 12 finalist in the Mr South Africa contest, the grand finale of which takes place in Cape Town on February 24.

The contest kicked off in March last year and Bronkhorst was among the top 100.

To make it into the top 12, contestants had to challenge each other in various events for the Cansa Association of SA, which is the contest’s official charity, and also by taking part in a 30-day random acts of kindness challenge.

He describes himself as honest, sincere, trustworthy and loyal individual who never does things halve way.

“My strong religion is something which defines me in full. I am driven, and passionate about children, a young man who still has a strong hold on my high moral values and beliefs. Family orientated and dedicated to all tasks I tackle.

“I believe that a mistake isn’t a mistake if you learn from it, it’s a lesson.”

If he should become Mr South Africa, he will be dedicating himself to his country while aiming to do good wherever he goes.

“With my background in education psychology and being a qualified teacher I feel that I can be a good asset in the education sector to be the voice for each scholar to make sure they get the best education , as children are our future.

“Working with disabled and people with learning disabilities I will ensure they get the tools needed to see that they are able to focus, work and live a normal life.”
