Witkoppie substation failure: Work continues to stabilise power in Boksburg

There will be continued power outages throughout Boksburg this morning (December 11) as work continues to stabilise power in the city.

This is after a failure occurred at the Witkoppie substation yesterday due to a faulty voltage cable.

The Advertiser understands by this morning the Jet Park Industrial area was supposed to be on by around 8am.

However, Boksburg North, Beyers Park, Ravensklip, Comet, Morgan Ridge, Witfield, Impala Park and Atlavsville will be load shed on a rotation basis until about 5pm while repairs to the high voltage cable are underway.

It is yet unclear how long the load shed per area will be, as the metro is working on first balancing the available capacity with the needs.
