
House robbery
A Sunward Park woman was subjected to a terrifying ordeal when a group of armed thugs entered her house and ransacked it on Friday night, November 24.
According to Maseko, the men entered the house, pointed a firearm at the woman and tied her arms and legs. They then helped themselves to her electrical appliances, including a TV, cellphone, DVD player and speakers before driving away in the victim’s car, a black VW Polo.
The car was later recovered in Soweto. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Business robbery
A group of armed thugs stole 380 cellphones and a substantial amount of money during a robbery at the Pep store at Sunward Park Lifestyle Centre on Saturday afternoon, November 25. According to Maseko, the robbers reportedly entered the store pretending to be customers, before suddenly producing firearms and demanding money.
“They took the cellphones and money before fleeing the scene,” said Maseko.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Residential burglary
* Thieves forced their way into a house in Fairview Place, Parkrand and stole goods worth about R30 000 on November 23.
The suspects forced open a gate and house door to gain access, and stole electrical appliances including a TV and subwoofer.
* In Sunward Park, thieves forcibly entered a house and stole goods worth about R50 000 on Sunday, November 26.
The stolen goods are expensive clothing items, including suits and jackets. To gain entry, the thugs forced open the gate and main door of the house.
