The young girl endured the abuse at the hands of Godfrey Momelesi Gwaxa in the Jerusalem informal settlement on April 7, 2016.
He was subsequently charged with two counts of rape, one of exposure/display of pornographic material to a child and one of sexual assault.
He pleaded not guilty to all four charges on May 29 this year.
On November 1, magistrate Abel Shilubhana found Gwaxa guilty of the rapes and exposing the child to pornography and acquitted him on the sexual assault charge.
Gwaxa was, on the same day, sentenced to 30 years on the first count of rape, 20 years on the second count of rape and nine years on the charge relating to the pornography.
Shilubhana ordered that counts two and three run concurrently with count one, ruled Gwaxa unfit to possess a firearm and ordered that his name is entered into the National Register for Sex Offenders.
He also has to serve at least two thirds of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole.
Prosecutors Maria Fyfe, Takalani Mukhumo and Ansurie Khalikhan represented the state.
