Watch: Generation Z star Keegan dreams of performing on the biggest stages
Keegan Roux (17), a learner at Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen, is an authentic Generation Z child who was born on the East Rand in 2000.
He has been on the stage since the age of four, realising that it was his heart’s desire and life’s passion to sing and perform.
Keegan has been with vocalist coaches since the age of six and has performed regularly.
He was invited to represent South Africa overseas during the South African Championships of the Performing Arts (Los Angeles) and Talent Africa (New York).
However, due to insufficient funds, this once-in-a lifetime opportunity did not materialise.
Apart from his singing, he loves drama, public speaking and basically anything that happens on a stage.

He adores gaming but also loves the outdoors.
Although he enjoys most things all boys at his age do, he has his mind set on making singing his life.
Keegan comes from a musical background, with a mother who plays the guitar and piano and encourages her children to participate in at least one sport and one cultural activity.
According to his mother, Marselle Roux, Keegan is one of a kind.
“From a young age he’s loved performing on stage and has always wanted to see everyone happy,” said Roux.
“I know he will make it big out there.”
Keegan would like to tour the world with his music.

“I’ve always been passionate about music. I’m even crazy about drama and if I could, I would like to draw too, but music remains my greatest passion,” explained Keegan.
“The dream I’m aspiring to is to perform on the world’s biggest stages. I want to sing for big crowds and share my love for music and singing with them.
“I see music as a universal language, which means the world is my oyster and I can go anywhere!”

Keegan is planning on doing several shows to raise funds so he is able to go overseas next year.
If any individual or business would like to book Keegan for a show or function, or can assist his dream financially, they can contact his mother, Marselle, on 082 572 5505.
