Steel worth about R100 000 stolen in Boksburg East

Robbers held security guards at gunpoint and stole steel worth about R100 000 from GibbSteel in Van Dyk Road, Boksburg East.

It was reported that an on-duty security guard was patrolling the yard when he was approached by ten men, all armed with guns, who took him to the guard room where the other guard was.

“Two trucks entered the property and the suspects started loading the steel onto the trucks using a crane. When the trucks were fully loaded, the robbers tied the guards’ hands with shoelaces and disappeared.”

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

A woman had a projector worth about R6 000 stolen from her car while it was parked at Sunward Lifestyle Centre, corner Kingfisher Avenue and Trichardts Road, on the afternoon of October 30.
