A sign of negligence by the metro

Concerned citizen, writes:

I am a pensioner who has been a resident of Van Dyk Park for nearly 41 years.

One night while I was on my way home, travelling my normal speed of about 60kmp/h, all of a sudden my car went over a speed hump and my head nearly hit the roof.

There are no zebra markings over the speed hump, which is right opposite 19 Bluegum Street, and there is no sign warning drivers of the speed hump.

I immediately contacted someone who is in charge of a traffic department and therefore knows the traffic laws very well.

According to this person, this unmarked hump is illegal – there must be zebra lines drawn across the hump as well as warning signs.

This is a sign of gross negligence of service delivery by the Ekurhuleni metro.
