Bikers rev up another successful animal run

Approximately 1 000 bikers and community members contributed to the success of the sixth Ekurhuleni SPCA Animal Run mass ride, which ended at the Boksburg City Stadium, on September 3.

This fun-filled day is hosted annually in aid of the Boksburg, Brakpan, Benoni, Kempton Park, Edenvale and Springs SPCAs.

The event kicked off at 9am with bikers travelling from Edenvale to Boksburg.

There was a trophy for the biggest club attending, metal and cloth badges, a flea market, a beer tent, food stalls, a raffle, a park-and-sell-your bike opportunity and many more activities.

Mustang Sally and The Dixie Hillbillies provided good music which contributed to the ‘lekker’ vibe on the day.

Donations of cash, pet food and blankets were collected and these will be distributed among the SPCAs.

Event coordinator Alta Gobey thanked all the bikers and members of the public who supported the event.
