Robber with knife and stolen golf bag arrested

Boksburg North SAPS members arrested a suspect minutes after he assaulted a complainant with a knife and robbed him of his golf bag, in Cason Road.

The complainant was walking down Cason Road to a grocery shop when he was approached by two men as he entered the shop, on August 22, around 1.15pm.

According to Coetzer, one man produced a knife and held it against his throat.

“He demanded money from the complainant and also grabbed his golf bag, which he was carrying.”

The suspect then ran out of the shop with the complainant’s golf bag.

The complainant went to Boksburg North SAPS and found two policemen, Sgts Nick Muller and Gerhard Diedericks, who immediately started looking for the suspects.

They found the suspect with the golf bag walking down Cason Road. They searched him and found the cash and the knife in his possession.

He was arrested and detained at the Boksburg North SAPS.
