Alert Boksburg North SAPS members seize items, make arrest

The alertness of the Boksburg North SAPS led to the arrest of five suspects while patrolling along Cason Road on August 11.

They noticed a suspicious vehicle with five occupants and stopped and searched them.

“While searching the first two men, the others started the vehicle in an attempt to get away,” said Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Capt Juanita Coetzer.

The SAPS called for assistance and the suspects were all arrested.

In their possession, they found a 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off, one magazine with 14 rounds, a toy gun, a balaclava and a knife.

They were detained at Boksburg North SAPS.

The Station Commander, Col Kumbilani Mbatha, thanked and praised his members for being alert.

He is very proud of his members for their hard work and dedication.
