Wool Centre pays it forward this winter

Wool Centre Boksburg in Trichardts Road donated about 80 blankets to the Volle Evangelie Kerk in Northmead, Benoni, on August 15.

Pastor Johan Swanepoel and the church board members received the donation on behalf of the church.

The elderly will each receive a blanket that was beautifully crocheted or knitted with love.

According to Elizabeth Evans, owner of Wool Centre Boksburg, the donation is a ‘pay it forward’ system.

“If the elderly person knows of another elderly person who needs the blanket more, they can ‘pay it forward’ to them,” explained Evans.

Evans, Carol-Ann Smith (knitting and crochet advisor), Velia Blignaut (marketing and charity) and designer Irene Vaz from the Wool Centre, would like to thank all the women who supported this ongoing project.

“Without them it would not be possible,” said Evans.
