Boksburg North house catches fire; two injured

Two people suffered smoke inhalation and were transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 29, after a fire broke out at a house in 10th Avenue, Boksburg North, at around 7.45pm.

The Leon Ferreira Fire Station received a call about the fire and responded.

“Upon their arrival, the house was well alight,” said Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services spokesperson William Ntladi.

“The crew started fighting the fire while backup from Farrarmere Fire Station was en route.”

Seven rooms were affected by the fire, and a car and a caravan that were parked next to the house sustained heat damage.

“The residents are tenants, and nobody suffered any losses or was injured,” said Ntladi.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
