Are you Boksburg’s Biggest Chop?
All roads will lead to the K90 Centre on September 2, where a huge bash to celebrate the centre's 20th anniversary will take place.

Here are some of the highlights planned for the day:
Boksburg’s Biggest Chop
Strongman contestants will pit their meat-eating abilities against five volunteers from the audience – the protein in question is a 1kg rib-eye steak!
Owner of the K90 Centre Charlie Bentel said the “Boksburg’s Biggest Chop” contest isn’t for the faint-hearted.
“To stand a chance of taking part, you’ll need to be at the fun day. Five volunteers will be selected to compete against 10 strongmen to see who can eat the colossal cut of meat in the fastest time.
“We do request that volunteers donate a pair or more of shoes to our Sole2Sole second-hand shoe drive for the underprivileged in order to qualify to compete.
“The fast eater will be crowned Boksburg’s Biggest Chop and receive a R1 000 Meat World voucher.”
Donate shoes to the needy
There will be collection bins for second-hand shoes at the fun day. This initiative is in support of Alberton youngster Dario Gouveia’s Sole2Sole project.
The nine-year-old Grade Four learner started this charity project in February and has, literally, handed out thousands of pairs of shoes to the less fortunate since.
Dario will be at the fun day to join in some of the activities and take collection of the donations received. Shoes must be “gently worn” – in fair condition, in other words, so that someone else can benefit from them. Donations should be brought to the K90 fun day.
