Two hijackings reported in Boksburg

A Parkrand man reported to police that his gold Mazda Rustler was hijacked in Angelo informal settlement on July 20.

The victim told the police that he wanted to drive to the informal settlement to buy dagga but couldn’t because he was too drunk to drive.

He then asked another man to drive him there in his Mazda bakkie.

When they arrived in Angelo, the victim told the driver he was now capable of driving but the other man refused to let the owner drive the car.

The pair argued and the driver allegedly assaulted the car owner before taking off in the bakkie, leaving him stranded.

The police are investigating a case of hijacking and appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

* A man was hijacked at the traffic light at the intersection of Rondebult Road and Robinson Avenue, in Farrar Park, on the night of July 21.

The driver told the police that he was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, when another car, travelling in the opposite direction, stopped in front of his car, blocking his way.

Two gunmen alighted from the vehicle and aimed firearms at him while ordering him to lie on the back seat. The hijackers drove a few kilometres before dropping off the victim and driving away in his car.
