Special visit delights pre-schoolers
Popular among children, Lollos and Lettie recently visited Angel Wings pre- primary school in Witfield.
Lettie, accompanied by Karla, surprised their super fan Mia van Niekerk, who turned four years old the following day.
Lollos, a friendly character from Lalaland, is the brainchild of two Cape Town mothers, Alta Joubert and Minki Joubert, who decided that there wasn’t enough modern, colourful and interactive entertainment for children in Afrikaans.
Lalaland is the fantasy planet Lollos are from, where they enjoy Lalalollies.
Live shows are put on all over the country and target children between the ages of one and 10.
Mia’s father, Riaan van Niekerk, said: “My little one said on her birthday she would like to see Lollos and Lettie and, since her mother and I love her so much, I used my contacts and made sure that her wishes came true.
“We also wanted to give other children at the crèche the opportunity to see Lollos and Lettie because children really love them.”
Elizna Swanepoel, who plays the character of Karla, wished Mia a happy fourth birthday.
