East Rand Mall, SAPS join hands in fight against crime

The East Rand Mall, SAPS, EMPD and other role players took part in a crime awareness campaign on May 26.

The event kicked off at noon, at Entrance One of the mall.

Other role players were the SAPS and EMPD Equestrian Units, Intelligence, EMS Chaplaincy, CPF and MEC.

Members handed out 3 000 flyers and 280 caps and bags to the community.

Fifteen members took part in foot patrols in and around the mall. SAPS searched about 350 people and interviewed about 100.
