Estate agents get the blood flowing for a good cause
Prime Properties, in Impala Park, hosted a successful blood drive at the offices on Saturday, May 20.
Melani van Rooyen, from the estate agency, said: “We organised this blood drive because we wanted to make people aware of the scarcity of blood.
“We know that everyone is busy and they normally do not have the time but it’s important for them to visit blood donor centres to save a life.
“We will never know when we will need blood so it’s important that the South African National Blood Service has sufficient blood to help patients who need blood.”
Blood donor Trudy Slabber said she hasn’t donated blood in a long time, due to a medical condition.
“I am so glad I can donate again and save people’s lives,” Slabber said.
Another donor, Nonsikelelo Khesi, said she feels excited knowing that she is making a difference in someone’s life.
Prime Properties will host another blood drive at the end of the year.
“We thank every donor who supported this blood drive and hope to see new faces at our next drive,” van Rooyen said.
