You could be driving a stolen car if you bought it at this dealer

Gauteng Police are calling on members of the public who may have purchased motor vehicles from an unregistered second-hand car dealer in Edenvale between June 2016 to date, to bring the vehicle(s) to the SAPS at Edenvale and/or Benoni in Bedford Avenue.

This comes after police seized 11 cars from the dealer from Andries Pretorius Road in Edenvale.

According to the Kempton EXPRESS, unsuspecting buyers may have fallen victim to unscrupulous dealers in Andries Pretorius Road, Edenvale, and are therefore at risk of being guilty of being in possession of a stolen or hijacked vehicle.

At this stage, vehicles most likely to be suspect are Hyundai H100, VW Polo, Golf – different models, Toyota Hi-Ace and Tazz.

Police would also like to encourage buyers to make sure that any dealer they conduct business with has an official second-hand goods certificate displayed at the business premises.
