Schoolchildren were left stranded in Boksburg at various bus stops on February 8, as no buses were operating due to a lack of diesel at the depot.
Bus services leave learners stranded
Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe confirmed that buses on some of the routes did not operate on February 8 because of diesel shortages.
“We did not receive the diesel supply as normal and we expressed the urgency to the suppliers as of January 24, without much success.
“We extend our apologies to the affected commuters and we are engaging with the suppliers on this issue,” Gadebe said.
