Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said that upon arrival, paramedics found an elderly man with a gunshot wound in his house in Freeway Park.
The exact detail as to what happened will form part of a SAPS investigation and comment.
The man was declared dead at the scene by Netcare911 paramedics.
