Oos Rand Secondary increases pass rate

Reiger Park's Oos Rand Secondary School saw an increased overall pass rate in their 2016 matric results.

The school obtained a total of two distinctions, with an increase in pass rate to 85 per cent from last year’s mark of 82.

Principal Lincoln van Ross attributed the increase to the dedication by both the learners and teachers, the extra classes and the many interventions by the education department.

Van Ross said they did expect a rise in the pass rate.

“We also had support from parents, the business community and from former pupils, who offered tutorials,” he said.
