Church donates toiletry packs to Villa Liza learners
The Holy Life Ministries in partnership with Khula Foundation donated toiletry packs to 21 underprivileged learners from Villa Liza High School recently.
A total of 16 girls and five boys from the school will receive the toiletry packs every month.
As part of the church’s community outreach programme they decided to extend a helping hand to the school by adopting certain learners who are from underprivileged backgrounds.
According to Millicent Mophethe, the church already has other programmes dedicated to looking after the needy by supplying them with clothes and food.
“We decided to take it further to schools. That is where we decided on Villa Liza High School and we then identified the learners in need.

“The reason why we are providing these learners with toiletry packs is that young girls tend to be absent from school because they don’t have sanitary wear. In these toiletry packs we have provided each of the 16 girls with the sanitary wear to restore pride again.
“We are also empowering these learners to be better people since they have a bright future ahead of them,” Mophethe said.
During the hand-out of the packs, various speakers, including Dawn Park SAPS officers, motivated the learners to never give up on life.
