Man dies after being struck by car in Atlas Road

ER24 Paramedics arrived on the scene at around 6pm, and found the man still trapped underneath a vehicle.

“Bystanders indicated that the man was still alive moments before paramedics arrived on the scene. Paramedics were unable to reach the man under the vehicle. The fire department lifted the motor vehicle and he was pulled out from underneath.

“Upon assessment paramedics found that he had sustained multiple fatal injuries and there was nothing that they could do for him,” said ER24 Spokesperson, Werner Vermaak.

He was declared dead on the scene.

The female driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.

Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
