Ravenswood residents devastated by dog poisonings

Several residents of Ravenswood were left heartbroken after a number of dogs in Homtini Street died after being poisoned.

It is understood that thieves poison dogs as a means to gain access to properties.

A devastated resident of Homtini Street, Tracey Petkovic, told the Advertiser that in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 11, their two dogs, as well as a couple of other dogs in their street, were poisoned.

“Clearly they are planning on breaking into our properties.

“No words can describe the heartache and devastation that these savages have caused to our neighbours, our family and our children.

“Trying to explain to my two small children that some savage poisoned our dogs is something no mother should ever have to do,” said the resident.

She warns the community to be careful of these heartless dog killers as they are “watching our every move”.

“Now we all walk on eggshells waiting for the next episode, or wondering who is the target and when it will happen,” she said.

“What has this world come to?” asked the resident.

The resident said it is sad that the dogs are not even safe in their own yard.

“Words cannot describe the pain and anger I feel. My darling dogs did not deserve to die the terrible, horrible death that they had to endure.

“I hope karma comes back to these inhuman savages.

“I do not wish bad luck on anyone, but I certainly wish them nothing but the worst. I would love to catch them and feed them the same poison they gave to my dogs, and I would absolutely delight in watching them suffer.

“There is no justice for animals in this country. Sad world we live in. Then they wonder why people emigrate. I will wait for them and they will regret the day they ever messed with the residents of Homtini Street,” said Petkovic.

Dog poisoning is also apparently rife in the Witfield area, with the most recent one occurring in Gail Street.

The family opened a case with the police and it is being investigated.
