Hijackers force victims to drink alcohol

A truck transporting 60 pallets of merchandise was hijacked and had its cargo stolen in Freeway Park, on June 23.

The truck driver told the police that he was driving along the Rondebult Road on-ramp, onto the N17 highway, when a bogus traffic officer signalled to him to pull over.

The unsuspecting driver complied and the bogus cop asked to see his driver’s licence.

All of a sudden, the fake cop pulled out a gun and forced the driver and his crew to alight from their company’s truck.

After hijacking the truck, the thugs forced the driver into a white Mercedes Benz.

His assistants were bundled into another waiting vehicle and driven away in the two different cars.

The victims said they were were all forced to drink alcohol while being held hostage for a couple of hours.

The hijacking ordeal came to an end when the victims were later set free unharmed in Olifantsfontein.

Both the truck and cargo are still missing, and the Boksburg police are investigating a case of hijacking. -@FanieFLK
