UPDATE: Father allegedly shoots daughter; teenagers witness murder

Information leading to the shooting of father and daughter in Dawn Park this morning has emerged.

According to Dawn Park Police Station communication officer Nkemeleng Mabula, a former policeman (60) from the Vosloorus Police Station allegedly shot his 30-year-old daughter at her house in Dawn Park, before turning the gun on himself.

“The Dawn Park SAPS were notified of the shooting by the grandson who came to the police station alerting them about the incident just after 6am.

“According to the grandson, there was no argument prior to the shooting,” said Mabula.

The father lives in Vosloorus and he went to his daughter’s house this morning.

When Netcare911 paramedics arrived on scene they found that both father and daughter had already died due to the gunshot wounds they sustained.

They were both declared dead on scene by Netcare911 paramedics.

Netcare911 can confirm that they have dispatched trauma counsellors to counsel four teenagers who witnessed the incident.

The motive of the killing is yet unknown. Investigation is still ongoing.
