The Advertiser visitedSunward Park High School and spoke to matrics about the current exams and study tips they wished to share.
Gomolemo Mphosi: “I am not ready for the exams. No one can ever be ready for exams. My study tips are to write down everything you need to study in the form of study notes and to read them continuously.”
Alycia Naidoo: “I am very prepared for my exams, as I started preparing in the recent holidays. My study tips are to use cue cards and not to study the night before exams, because cramming is not the right way to study.”
Mothibisi Mangoali: “I am not really ready for the June examinations, but I will catch up. My study tips are to take two hours to focus on one subject and to not start to study late for the upcoming exams.”
Kwanda Kubeka: “I am ready for the June exams; just maths will be tricky. My study tip is: don’t study the night before, rather prepare months before the examinations.”
Phumeza Mjanyelwa: “I am prepared for the exams. My study tips are to not exhaust yourself, to take breaks during every study session – at least five minutes to walk around – and to practise on past papers.”
Mbali Maseko: “For some of my subjects I am not ready, because I tend to leave things too late. Some of the subjects I am confident about, because I practise a lot. My study tips are to make study notes, spend time practising mathematics and to revise on past question papers.”
