EMPD and SAPS members again invaded Boksburg North on May 12 and 13, in an initiative aimed at dissuading would-be criminals from committing crimes.

The two law enforcement agencies conducted high visibility patrols and searched for wanted criminals between 6pm and 11pm.

EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago said the joint effort produced 30 arrests, which included 10 undocumented persons.

“All the problematic streets and locations within Boksburg North were patrolled, which resulted in seven suspects arrested for possession of drugs, two for dagga, three for theft, four for shoplifting, one for business burglary, one for assault and resisting arrest, one for possession of a dangerous weapon and one driver who was nabbed for drinking and driving,” said Kgasago.

He said all the suspects were booked in at the Boksburg North Police Station and were expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon.
