DA welcomes permanent speed camera in Bardene
Speed control interventions fought for over a period of many years will come to fruition with the installation and commissioning of a permanent speed camera in Bardene.

This is according to DA’s Bill Rundle, Shadow MMC for Roads and Transport in the Ekurhuleni Caucus.
It is understood the camera is on North Rand Road, between Elizabeth and Atlas roads.
“My colleagues, Member of the Provincial Legislature Graham Gersbach, Councillor Ashley Rutherford and new incumbent DA Ward Candidate Simon Lapping are overjoyed with the long outstanding intervention,” said Rundle.
“All these DA members are lobbyists for and supporters of the law enforcement initiative against negligent , reckless and speeding motorists.
“Promises and undertakings by the metro over many years failed to materialise and the fatalities and near fatalities from accidents in Bardene increased week by week.
“Direct approaches and appeals to the Head of Department of the Traffic Control Division of the National Prosecuting Authority finally got things moving and only administrative delays prevented earlier conclusion of the matter.”
