Stay safe this Easter weekend – Dawn Park SAPS

Home owners are urged to take the necessary precautions to safeguard their properties and valuables when going on holiday.

Dawn Park SAPS shared tips on how people should conduct themselves:

*Residents going on holiday are advised to request someone to safeguard their properties.

*Mail left at the gate or overflowing mailboxes is a sign that nobody is home, so get someone you trust to remove mail or newspapers rather than letting them remain unattended for a long time.

*Avoid using remote ATMs, especially at night. Never show or give a stranger your PIN code and bank card.

*Be aware of your surroundings, especially when stopping at red traffic lights.

*Drinking liquor in public and drinking and driving will not be tolerated.

*Pedestrians are advised to look right and left before they cross the road.
