Boksburg Lake Rotaract donates stationary to school

The Boksburg Lake Rotaract have started the year off with several charitable projects for the community of Boksburg.

A total of 108 stationery kits were donated to the Grade Ones at the Ramaphosa Primary School on January 12.

The stationery was organised by the Rotaract president, Jessica Jones, following a generous donation by Hammond Pole Majola Attorneys.

The packs, containing books, stationery, snacks and a picture of the club’s mascot to colour in, were handed out to the Grade Ones on their first day of school.

“We hope that the donation will start all the Grade Ones off on a positive note and that it shows the community that we support the importance of education,” Jones said.

“We wish all school students across Boksburg a year full of learning and fun.”

Boksburg Lake Rotaract have also initiated the ‘Empty Bucket Challenge’.

“We have therefore pledged R1 172 towards Operation Hydrate. This money covers the cost of delivering a pallet containing 560 litres of water to areas without access to drinking water. A video clip has been uploaded onto the Boksburg Lake Rotaract Club’s Facebook page.”

Boksburg Lake Rotaract meets every month. Young adults between the age of 18 and 35 years who are willing to volunteer for their community are urged to attend the meetings.
