Aluminium robbery suspects arrested

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a business robbery in Field Road, Lillianton, where aluminium was stolen on January 3.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, the complainant was patrolling the company at around around 2.15am when, suddenly, four men appeared from behind the cooler machine.

“The robbers told the complainant not to make a noise and tied him up with his shoe laces,” said Coetzer.

“While he was tied up, the complainant could allegedly hear a truck entering the premises.

“The robbers then also brought the complainant’s colleague to him and tied him up as well. They had to lie on the floor while one robber stayed with them, to guard them.

“The intruders left the premises after about an hour and the complainant managed to loosen the shoe laces.

“Following investigations, the suspects were arrested.”

The stolen aluminium has not been recovered.
