Hijackers nailed, vehicle recovered

Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the hijacking of a vehicle in a driveway in Abrahamson Street, Witfield, on December 5.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, the complainant was driving her white VW Polo and when she turned into Abrahamson Street at around 8.55pm, she noticed a vehicle behind her.

“When she turned into her driveway, the vehicle stopped behind her,” said Coetzer.

“She saw two men climbing out the vehicle and another suspect showed her a shooting sign with his hand, but she did not see any firearms.

“The complainant ran into the house. Two of the suspects jumped into her vehicle and drove off.”

“Det WO Willem van Aswegen and a team followed up on all the information and recovered the vehicle in Reiger Park.

“So far they have arrested six suspects. They also found the complainant’s laptop in possession of one of the suspects.”

The case will be investigated further. – @IschkeBoksburg
