Wool Centre Boksburg spreads Christmas joy

Christmas came a little early this year when a whopping 187 colorful material bags filled with goodies, as well as gift sets, were donated by the Wool Centre Boksburg to the elderly residents of Scribante Haven, on December 16.

The Fill-a-Bag for an Oldie Project was initiated at the end of October. A woman, known only as Shirley from Witfield Park, made material bags from material donations given to the Wool Centre Boksburg.

These bags were handed out to customers to fill with treats for an elderly person for Christmas.

“A warm and blessed thanks to our customers, members of the community and Wool Centre staff members for assisting,” said Elizabeth Evans, owner of the Wool Centre Boksburg.

“We aimed for 100 bags and we were blessed with 187 bags and 50 gift sets.”

The Boksburg West Dutch Reformed Church congregation also assisted greatly with the project.

This drive will start again in August 2016.
