During the profiling process at Bokkie Park, on December 5, children were fingerprinted and had their vital details police need when one is reported missing recorded on a certificate and then given to parents for safekeeping.
Parents were given certificates with their children’s personal information such as age, weight, distinguishing features, fingerprints and a recent photograph of the child.
According to Pink Ladies’ Wendy Skeens, the information is kept in the possession of the child’s parents, and when the child is reported missing, parents will ideally be able to provide police with the certificate containing all the relevant information.
“It’s important to have all the relevant details when people come to report someone missing,” said Skeens. -@FanieFLK
