House robbing duo sentenced to years behind bars

Two suspects, who were arrested earlier this year for house robbery, have been found guilty in the Boksburg Magistrate Court.

Brandon Thabong Mochela (18) was sentenced to four years imprisonment and Mandlakhe Buthelezi (23) to two years imprisonment.

Both suspects are from Soweto.

On May 27, the suspects were arrested for a house robbery in Stein Street, Ravensklip.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, a domestic worker was busy cleaning the house when she heard a noise in the house and went to investigate.

“She found two unknown men in the house. One of them grabbed her around the neck and forced her into the laundry,” said Coetzer.

“He searched her and found two cellphones, while the other man had a plastic bag in which he loaded some items. They forced her into the bathroom. She then heard a gunshot and her employer calling her name. She came out and saw that her employer had apprehended the two suspects.”
