Pedestrian seriously injured in collision with motorcycle

The accident happened in Bentel Road, near the East Rand Mall’s entrance three.

The pedestrian lay injured and unresponsive in the middle of the road.

He suffered a fractured leg and a suspected head injury.

Paramedics from ER24, Netcare 911, Maponya and EMS, worked for nearly 30 minutes to resuscitate the patient who was later transported to hospital.

The motorcyclist sustained face injuries and was also treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The actual cause of the accident is not known and police were at the scene investigating.
