The incident occurred on October 26 at around 6.15am.
EMPD media liaison officer Kobeli Mokheseng said a white Jinbei minibus taxi driven by a 28-year-old man knocked over pedestrian crossing the roadway.
Mokheseng said paramedics declared her dead at the scene and it is not clear at this stage what actually caused the accident.
“A case of culpable homicide has been registered at the Boksburg police station and our Accident Reconstruction Unit will assist SAPS Detectives with further investigations.”
