Join community forums and fight crime in your area

Residents of Reiger Park, Delmore Garden and Delmore Park are encouraged to join the existing community forums in order to work with the police to proactively deal with crime.

According to the Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Mashudu Phathela, the aim is to increase the number of community members actively working with the police to make the Reiger Park policing precinct a safe place to live and conduct business.

“Currently, only 2.5 percent of the community is actively involved in the fight against crime. The partnership has a successful result as we have together managed to reduce certain types of crime. Join us in making a difference in your family and community. Let us reclaim our streets from criminals,” said Phathela

Residents can join the CPF, Women’s Desk, Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Men’s Forum or the Elderly/Disability Desk.

To find out more about these forums, phone Phathela on 079 694 6503 or CPF chairperson pastor Francis Coetzee on 083 647 8336.

To report any suspicious activity, tipsters can directly speak to the on duty officers dedicated to the area where the suspicious activity is taking place. Reiger Park SAPS sector one consists of Reiger Park, Joe Slovo, Angelo Deep as well as Ramaphosa, and the sector vans can be reached on 071 675 7363 and 071 675 6990.

Sector two consists of Delmore Gardens, Delmore Park, Driefontein, Delmore Informal Settlements and Ulana. The sector vehicle cellphone numbers are 071 675 6995 and 071 675 6992.
