
Robbery
* Two armed men broke into an Angelo informal settlement home and robbed a man and his wife of their belongings, worth thousands of Rand.
The couple was asleep when the intruders arrived in the early hours of Saturday, October 3.
The intruders shouted at the couple that they were going to shoot them and fired several shorts inside the shack, before covering the couple with a blanket.
The thugs stole R2 000 in cash, a bag full of clothes and essential personal documents.
The couple was not injured, and police are investigating a case of house robbery.
* Four intruders, armed with pistols and driving in an Audi, entered a house in Cinderella and robbed the occupant of the property (a man), on October 2.
They stole a wedding ring, a laptop and a wristwatch, before driving off.
No arrests have been made but police are investigating a case of housebreaking.
* Also on September 30, robbers entered a house on Solomon Street, Boksburg South, and stole goods worth about R15 000.
The two men, described only as black males, entered the house through the window and tied up the victim, before looting.
* A woman was assaulted and robbed of her belongings, worth about R21 000, on Leeuwpoort Street, Boksburg, on September 28.
The complainant told the police that while driving along the road she stopped behind a whiteVolkswagen Golf, before a gang of men approached her and started assaulting her.
The panic-stricken woman jumped out of the car, leaving the thugs to help themselves to her belongings, inside the car.
Murder
* A man died after he was struck with what police believe is a hammer, in Power Street, Boksburg East Industrial area, on September 29.
He was hit on the forehead and his jaw.
The motive for the killing is still unclear, but investigations continue.
* Police are investigating another murder, following the death of a woman who arrived at the Tambo Memorial Hospital with stab wounds on September 28.
The woman is known only as Fatima, and police are still investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
Carjacking
* A man was left stranded after thugs hijacked his car, worth R270 000, while he was alighting from it on Cason Road, next to Shoprite, on October 1.
He told the police that, as he was getting out of his car, a gang of armed men confronted him and pushed him back into the vehicle.
They then drove with him seated on the back seat, where he was held hostage.
His ordeal came to an end when the carjackers dumped him in Ramaphosa and drove away in his car.
Police are still searching for the carjackers.
