Pregnant local woman allegedly kidnapped to act as a drug mule

Reiger Park SAPS appeals for information to assist them locate an eight months pregnant Boksburg woman, who was apparently kidnapped by drug dealers and is set to act as a drug mule in Indonesia.

The 27-year-old Kwebulana Nomvano, apparently mentally disturbed, of Ramaphosa disappeared from her home on July 19.

According to Sgt Mashudu Phathela, police have been looking for her ever since, but to no avail.

Investigators subsequently received information from an informer that Nomvano was last seen with two men described as black males.

They were seen forcing her into a black BMW, with her hands and feet tied and a gag placed over her mouth.

This happened in the open veld between Elsburg and Ramaphosa, on the day Nomvano went missing.

Investigation continued until another informer phoned the police that she saw the woman at a house in Germiston where apparent drug dealers were holding her hostage.

The informer also told the police that the drug dealers intend to use the pregnant woman to smuggle drugs out of Indonesia into South Africa, as they believe that pregnant women are ideal cover for smuggling.

Police went to the house and carried out a thoroughly search, but could not find the apparently abducted woman, but discovered the BMW matching the description provided by the informer.

Occupiers of the property told police that they do not know who owns the BMW.

Police discovered that the person renting the house sublet the rooms to several families, making it difficult to immediately trace the owner of the vehicle.

The informer told police that the same drug barons, who apparently abducted Nomvano, tricked her into agreeing to smuggle drugs out of Indonesia to South Africa in return for cash.

Police have also identified a prime suspect in the case – a Zimbabwean national known to the community of Ramaphosa and the police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Mashudu Phathela on 082 733 8481 Or 011 916 7000. -@FanieFLK
