Downward trend in serious crimes in Boksburg SAPS precint

The Boksburg SAPS crime report shows a downward trend in serious crimes, as well as crimes of violence, over the weekend in the precinct.

This same report shows declines in most of the categories of crime in the area, compared to the previous weekend, as well as the same period last year.

Between August 7 and 10, a total of nine serious crimes were recorded in the Boksburg SAPS policing precinct, down by three from the previous year and down by one compared to the previous weekend.

These nine reported cases include five burglaries, three thefts of motor vehicles and one unsuccessful carjacking.

Apart from a few petty crimes and the above-mentioned serious crimes, no other violent crimes, such as murder, house robbery, rape and attempted murder were reported over the weekend.

“It’s a good story for people in our precinct, as it shows that crime is trending in the right direction – but we obviously still have more work to do,” said Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese. -@FanieFLK
