In the same week I fetched a wheelie bin in Main Street, it was stolen from my pavement on collection day.
Now I have to pay.
I, however, feel it is not acceptable to be forced to pay for rubbish collection if the bin system does not work in Lilianton.
I will dump my own rubbish because I don’t have the time or a bakkie to go and make statements at the police station for a stolen bin and then drive and fetch a new bin a weekly basis.
It is not a viable option.
If council wants to enforce the bin system it must be workable.
They then must provide a chain so that we can lock the bins to the pavement.
Or else, leave it all-together and I will sort my own stuff, and not be charged the collection fee.
Millions of complaints has been lodged and council just says that is the way it is. It is not constitutional.
And the metro is actually conveying the message that everybody can run around and do as they please.
It seems nobody is accountable for anything.
The pavement across my house looks like 50 dustbins have been emptied there.
Also, allocated lamp post bins are never emptied.
Things only get cleaned when I complain.
Our municipality is disgusting and I’m so sick of bad service.
And I will stand up for my rights, even if it means emptying my rubbish bags on councils doorsteps, because they refuse to take my black bags.
When people toyi-toyi and overturn bins in town centre they get applauded for standing up for their rights. I will follow their example because I see it works well.
Watch this space.
