
* Daniel Dakenso (25), of Vosloorus, pleaded not guilty on June 1, to a charge of attempted murder, but was found guilty and sentenced on June 9.
On November 19, 2014, he intentionally attempted to kill Gurnisha Tadila by shooting at him with a firearm.
He has no previous conviction and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Magistrate Sijren Harichand presided and prosecutor Tyeku represented the state.
Johannes Chauke (26) of Vosloorus was convicted of theft on June 10.
On April 9, Chauke stole a Shield roll-on, body lotion, Dettol bottle and Vaseline from JD Cash and Carry. He has a previous conviction of theft and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Magistrates Jurg Viviers presided and Themba Maluleke represented the state.
* William Masango (24) of Tsakane pleaded guilty, was found guilty and sentenced for reckless driving on June 5.
On April 24, Masango was driving a Toyota Minibus when he collided with two other vehicles in Plantation Road.
He was sentenced to R6 000 or 12 months in prison.
Magistrate Molefe Ratlau presided and prosecutor Palesa Setshedi represented the state.
* Ovias Ndlovu, from Paul Smith Street, in Boksburg North, pleaded guilty, was found guilty and convicted of negligent driving on June 3.
On January 14, Ndlovu wrongfully drove a state vehicle and was involved in an accident.
He has a previous conviction for contravening the Immigration Act, by entering the Republic of South Africa without a passport.
He was sentenced to a fine of R4 000, or six months in prison, wholly suspended for five years.
Magistrate Emmanuel Magampa presided and prosecutor Angeline Mooiman represented the state.
* Patrick Nkune (22), of Soweto, was convicted of theft on June 3.
Nkune pleaded guilty and was found guilty of stealing two shirts worth R1 248.45, from Edgars, on May 15.
He has a previous conviction of theft and was sentenced to six months in prison.
