Stabbed boy expected to be discharged from hospital

The 5-year-old boy who was stabbed in a hijack drama is expected to be released from hospital today (May 25).

Aliandro Pugi’s grandfather, Danie Venter, told the Advertiser that the boy should be discharged this morning.

Aliandro was stabbed in the stomach when his father’s car was hijacked in Trichardts Road on May 17.

The car was recovered after a couple of hours near the Boksburg Prison.

His father, Ricardo Pugi, told the police that he was with the child in the car when he suddenly noticed someone walking in the middle of the lane he was driving in.

The child was left dying at the scene of the hijacking, while the suspects dumped the father 1km further down the road before abadonding the vehicle.

The boy was taken to the Union Hospital where he was operated on.

No one has been arrested and police are still investigating.
